I answer 3 questions about improving your 3bet play, defending against 3bets and late stage MTT strategies.
Q1: Improving Your 3bet Play 2:55 From: TJ Q: The one poker skill I need to improve is 3 betting Answer: The most important thing to improve your 3bet game is you must know of what you want to accomplish with it whether making or defendingAND see signs mtt online poker strategy you will accomplish it.
If things are going in your favor, pull the trigger and make the 3bet.
Regarding sizing, pick a size and stick with it for now.
I online poker stakes strategy 3x for IP 3bets bluffs or value and 3.
As you become more accustomed to 3bets, you will learn to tailor the sizing to get want more value, more effective bluffs, etc.
Also, take the time to do 3bet pot hand reading practice sessions.
The more you do it off the felt while reviewing hands, the more the skills and insights will come to you during your play.
It takes practice, and I recommend practicing with one or two a day at the beginning of your study sessions.
But, if you call in order to take advantage of post-flop weaknesses later or because your click to see more is ahead of their 3bet range and they would only continue with better hands versus a 4bet, then calling is +EV.
Before you 4bet, just like 3betting, know the reason for your 4bet: value or bluff.
If for value, then you believe they can continue with worse hands.
When either calling or 4betting, doing so IP is preferable to OOP.
Know your open raising ranges by position.
Determine your 3bet defense frequency by position.
Build your belgium online regulation 3bet defense range with calls and 4bets.
Build it to the defense frequency you selected.
For example, a 20% open raising range contains 265 combos.
AA-QQ and AK takes up 34 combos, so what will you fill the additional 60 combos with?
Some more pairs, good aces, maybe KQs and some suited connectors and baby Aces for bluffing.
Divide the range click calls and 4bets.
Ranges are a starting point.
They allow you to bring your off-the-felt analysis to your on-the-felt play.
But, never follow ranges exactly.
Q3: Late Stage MTT Strategies 11:20 From: Ciprian Q: Hi, I want to ask if you have any advice on how I can improve my tournament game.
In particular late stage of the tournament when you have to open your range.
Answer: You want to play good hands and use your opponent reads when entering a pot.
Be ready for who is likely to call as well, so you can start envisioning post-flop play against them.
If opening to steal, it should likely work.
You should be acting based on the players at your table, the payouts and the stack sizes involved.
Let the others duke it out as you ladder up.
Your plays should be based on how you can best exploit your opponents.
You can defend the blinds, but do so against smaller open raises with weak hands.
Against 3bb opens, defend very narrow.
Against min-opens, defend wide, especially the BB.
Value: know that your opponent can continue with worse.
Bluffing: know that they can fold their open raising hand.
Choose sizing at 3x-4x their sizing to make it tougher for them to call light.
You want light calls, but if they can call with J8s, then bet bigger to make it a bigger calling mistake on their part.
For post-flop play, think about the board and how it hits their range.
Look at their bet sizing and figure out what it means.
If they call your cbet, think about why they called.
Can they call with any pair or any draw, or will they call with only TP+?
Also, be aware of their stack size at all times.

Q1: Turbo and Super Turbo MTT Strategy 2:50 From Tushar: Q: Thanks for all your content which helps me develop my skills and improve my game.
It also motivates me to study more and use it in games.
I have a question about turbo and super turbo tourneys where blinds increase faster and we have to make quick decisions.
Please help me with some strategies.
Answer: First, always be cognizant of stack sizes.
Your opponents are willing to get it in very quickly with sub 20bb stacks, so be ready for that before you decide to open raise.
The 3bet rejam is an effective way to add chips to your stack, so your opponents use it mtt online poker strategy often.
Try to do so with hands that have at least a bit of equity or a good chance at connecting with lots of flops.
Most of your play will be pre-flop and flop-centric, so work to understand your ranges, and work to improve your flop v board understanding.
The blinds go up so quickly and everyone else is short-stacked, so this is a necessary part.
Tourney Stages In the early stages, let your opponents go crazy and just play a tight game.
The late stage is the final 2 tables.
Be aggressive and push around players who are likely to fold.
In this play, you call pre-flop OOP instead of 3betting or 3bet rejamming and when the flop hits, you move all-in before your opponent has the chance to act.
This puts them to the test.
Your opponents are folding a ton of their hands.
You can make this play when calling or betting on the flop would commit you to the hand small SPR.
Somewhere from 8-12bb starting stacks or even greater if you choose.
If you want to be more conservative, maybe your table is full of super loose callers, then use tighter ranges by looking at the higher BB charts.
Conservative play is okay.
You lose the ability to play conservative poker as it gets lower and lower.
Most of your play will be pre-flop and flop focused, with anything getting to the turn probably committing you to the pot.
Ramp up the aggression even more.
This is where the rejam lies.
Opening and folding pre will cost you a lot of chips, but it could still be a good play against the right players remaining.
Nothing to do but go all-in and hope to quadruple up then double-up, then double-up again.

Q1: MTT Leak Finding 2:45 Stefanos: Hey sky!
I was going through your episode 178.
Great material as always, highly appreciated.
How do you approach it in MTTs?
Look it up in the statistics guide in the Configure menu for the definition and calculation.
Filter for potential leaks and situations to see where the mtt online poker strategy rates differ, and look for negative numbers as well.
In the screenshot above, you can see the losses in the CO when 2betting pre-flop.
Maybe their CO ranges are too wide.
This player should filter for all-in situations and review these hands to see where mistakes are being made in the EP.
Q2: Developing Study Discipline 6:30 Lester Leslaw: Discipline.
I need to study more but I totally feel overwhelmed.
Just bought a Deuces Cracked subscription.
And bought your book on how to learn.
Have to read that.
So, any motivational things you can send me for more poker discipline would be great!
Answer: The discipline to study comes with time and seeing the benefits of study.
Commit to studying 1 losing hand go here day within your database.
This is an easy commitment to keep.
What often happens is your 5 minutes can quickly turn into :30 or longer as soon as you get motivated to study further.
Make this commitment every week for 4 weeks and see how you improve.
Time block your 5 minutes 1 losing hand and put it on your daily calendar.
Commit to one area of focus each week in these 5 minutes.
You can decide to study 3bet losing hands this week, or 2bet calling hands or whatever.
This will help to prevent overwhelm and your game will improve even more than if you hit a completely different area of study every day.
Q3: Equity Practice 10:30 Danny Seay: The one poker skill I know I need to improve https://veronsmeatmarket.com/online/top-online-casino-betting-sites.html calculating equity.
Answer: The best way to work on equity calculations is to whip out Flopzilla and run through tons of common situations.
Now, you can run different hands vs ranges vs boards and guess what the equities are.
How much equity does 8h7h have with their fd+bdsd?
Okay, what if they had a pair +fd, like Kh2h?
Q4: Playing the Player 13:20 Superstickboy: Adjusting my play to who I am am playing against and not just my cards.
Work on asking for help and making good questions.
Also in the email: The one thing I want to do is change my SharkScope flat line to an uphill growth pattern.
I think my full month playing them December 2018 really helped to open my eyes to how much I was NOT doing this and just playing my cards and the board.
Please listen to podcast episode 175 for what I learned from playing 263 of them.
Good luck on getting that Sharkscope.
He learned about Shark Scope and saw what his opponents would think of him.

This ended up propelling him to one of the the top players in the game.

I want you to study every Monday, and 4 more days through the week.
If motivation is an issue, time block 5 minutes out of every day and review just one hand.
Also, shorter daily study sessions are better than 1-3 hours of study one day per week.

What is the Rejam?
The Rejam is a 3bet bluff shove over a pre-flop raiser with the intention of stealing his open, the blinds and antes.
Our opponent opened the pot to 2.
His Fold to 3bet is at 75% over 8 samples.
The blinds are both relatively nitty players and we only expect to see them give our 3bet bluff shove any kind of action with QQ+.
When should we consider rejamming?
If one of the factors was off, like maybe the opener is a nit, or it was an UTG open, or the players in the blinds both had 50bb stacks and were calling stations, those might sway our decision.
With a healthy stack like this, you want to take the low hanging fruit, the easy pickins, the best, most profitable rejams.
There are three major considerations for rejams: the opponents, the positions and your hand.
How will they react to your 3bet shove?
Likely callers, watch out.
The higher the better for rejamming over.
This normally corresponds to higher levels of aggression as the wider they open, the less likely they have something to defend vs the 3bet.
High cold call numbers should help to dissuade you from rejamming.
Stacks Of course stacks are super important.
Same for those yet to act.
Consider the Positions Players — you want to think about the opener and yourself.
Couple their position with their player type to get an idea of the opening range.
Your position is important because the earlier you are, the more players your 3bet has to get thru.
Your 3bet bluffs have a better chance of working in later position.
Near the bubble people are scared of busting and will fold more readily.
Just be sure to couple the tourney situation with the players to think about how their decisions will be affected.
Perfect is perfect, and if you expect them to fold often enough you can do it with ATC.
Blockers — Some great hands to include in your 3bet rejam range are Ace and King blocking hands.
The fact that you have an Ace or a King makes it a bit less likely that your opponents will have a hand worthy of calling your 3bet.
How do we study our rejamming opportunities?
For all the aspects of rejamming mentioned above, studying the following topics will really benefit your understanding of and the ability to spot great rejamming opportunities.
Player types and characteristics — I recommend you checkout where I dive into book llr slot types and give you a Poker Player Types PDF for quick reference on characteristics and ways to exploit them.
Post-flop playability — read that article on post-flop playability at.
You can also use Flopzilla like I did to find out how often each hand hits flops on your own.
Actually, I suggest doing this on your own over going and reading the article.
And on top of studying each of those topics, you should do hand history reviews.
You can do this for both online and LIVE hands played.
LIVE For LIVE hands, you just need to be very diligent and detailed in the notes you take.
At the beginning of your next tournament and everyone after that, be on the lookout for rejamming opportunities at 15-25bb effective stacks.
The more you work on it, online gambling report sooner it will become an integral part of your MTT arsenal, so get to it!
And let me know how it goes, yo!

Reason for the Challenge: In the challenge video, Nick Wealthall says: You need to stop playing to survive, and start playing to win.
Playing to survive, to not lose, IS a sure way to lose.

Quite often I got folds when it was the first few times I did it at a table.
I was shoving hands like A2o, QQ, Q7s, 98s, AKo, 88, J6s and loads of others.
Re-steals got less effective as I did it more often I found that after read more it 3 or so times at a table, opponents would pickup on my 3bet aggression and I would start to get pretty light calls from weak players by hands like 88, ATo, KJ and A3.
Most of the time, though, opponents were calling with top 10% hands: JJ+, AJs+, AQo+ and KQs.
Often, my 3bet re-steals with 98s or QTs would get called by A8 or A4.
I marked lots for review later I use PokerTracker 4 and Flopzilla to analyze hands.
I found that I would often be just a 37% to 63% underdog with hands like 98s vs AKs or a 45% to 55% underdog with a hand like QJs vs ATo.
I kept track, but with so many games running at once I know I occasionally forgot to record a few hands.
I highly recommend taking on this challenge yourself if tournament aggression is an issue for you.
